“Great location, near lots of the main tourist sites but once in the apartment, a very peaceful haven from all the hustle. Loved sitting out on the terrace. Very friendly and helpful check in.
“+ Just like the photos, the apartment is full of character and charm but equipped with all the mod cons for a comfortable holiday. Aircon in the bedrooms was excellent but the kitchen upstairs was very hot as we were then for three days in 38 degree heat - definitely not the apartment’s fault! Loved the terrace and the view. Santa Croce is a quieter neighbourhood which we enjoyed, short walk to a supermarket for supplies, but at least 20 minute walk to the train station.
“Diana's apartment is great, even better than the photos. We loved the character of the place combined with mod cons such as air conditioning in the huge bedrooms. Sure, the stairs kept us fit and the balcony was not the easiest to access but the view made it worth the effort. Thank you Diana for being a great host. We recommend you to others!
“Book if available. Everything is better than the description and pictures can convey. The host is so personable and accommodating. Everything works, there are tons of extras, but you’re going to feel majestic and incredibly relaxed staying there and that can’t be quantified. It’s very quiet at night. The whole town is walkable from here. Parking is nearby. Was able to cook whole meals and do laundry during our stay. I already miss it..
“This is a beautiful apartment with a great design flair and an unbeatable terrace. Its location was also perfect: I could reach the river for morning runs within minutes, have aperitivos on the Santa Croce piazza right around the corner, and walk to major sites and museums within ten minutes. The kitchen is stocked with what you need, the building is a piece of Florence history, and the whole experience was a treat.
“We loved our stay here. The beautiful terrace is worth it alone but we loved the rest of the living space as well. Great location in a great neighborhood. Diana was a wonderful host who was so helpful with all our questions. 10/10 would recommend.

Santa CroceThe charm of past centuries, the taste of the present days. Take a sit in the middle of Piazza Santa Croce and choose which side you like better

The main square, Piazza Santa Croce, is embellished by typical food stores and handcrafts shops, great restaurants, bars and pubs but especially by the great and splendid Santa Croce Basilica. It is an excellent example of a quintessential ‘Renaissance square’, where perfect and impressive architectural geometry has been designed around the life of the community and its citizens. The best Italian artists have worked and left their works in this church. Among them, Brunelleschi, Cimabue, Donatello and Giotto. Here you will also and the tombs of Galileo, Michelangelo and Machiavelli.
An Appointment with History
It is very common to meet a friend at the base of Dante’s monument. The statue lies next to the staircase leading to the church. Visiting the church and the many important artists and scientists buried there and take a look at the cloister, the Pazzi Chapel and the annexed museum is absolutely a must.
Sandwiches of Art!
In Via de' Neri are a few delis. You can easily spot them by the long lines around them. Schiacciata, the typical Italian bread, is stuffed with salami, cheese and season vegetables. A nice glass of wine and the party of good taste can start, right in the middle of the street.
